The History of Our Farm....
In 1989 we purchased fifteen acres of property in Warwick, New York with the hope of keeping it open and green forever. In 1994 Maureen and Luke Charde founded High Meadow Flower Farm. For over a century our fields had been sown in hay and corn to support Warwick’s thriving dairy industry. Today we grow fifty varieties of quality fresh flowers, herbs and woody ornamentals on five cultivated acres nestled in the hills near our house. Deed covenants provide our land will always be “green and open.”
Annual plants and potted herbs are started in our greenhouse each spring. Over the years we have expanded our plantings of perennials and woody ornamentals to include beautiful peonies in the spring, gorgeous Asiatic and Oriental lilies during the summer months, spectacular Pee Gee hydrangeas in the fall, and lush Winterberry holly at Christmas time.

Our site does not lend itself to a retail location, so starting in mid-May we pack everything up and attend two farmers’ markets in New York State’s lower Hudson Valley. Sunflowers, Lilies and Zinnias are available by the stem until the frost. We also transport loads of mixed bouquets to each market.

We provide the freshest flowers to a number of florists in New York State’s lower Hudson Valley. Designers and florists are welcome to contact us directly for our wholesale price and availability list.

Please make plans to visit us at one of our markets this season.

Maureen and Luke Charde
