What we’re growing!
In late May we begin harvesting an abundance of peonies from our 600 plus plants. The varieties range from corals to reds, pinks to whites – early and late varieties. We pick our peonies in soft bud stage from late May until late June, and they are immediately placed in our cooler. Peonies may be held in this fashion with no loss of freshness. This means we have peonies available from mid-May through the first week of July.

Annuals are still started each spring in our greenhouse. Summer months feature field flowers – old fashioned favorites like snapdragons and zinnias, plus newer varieties of sunflowers, lisianthus and more.

During the late summer months and early fall limelight hydrangeas ripen. Finally after a hard frost the winterberry holly – Ilex verticillata – shows its bright red berries in time to ring in the holiday season.
