The History of our Farm

In 1989 we purchased fifteen acre of property in Warwick, New York.  For over a century our fields had been sown in hay and corn to support Warwick’s thriving dairy industry. Today we grow fresh flowers and woody ornamentals on five cultivated acres nested in the hills near our house.  Deed covenants provide that our land will always be “green and open.”

Before we even built our house and barn, we planted Peonies, Winterberry Holly and Pee Gee Hydrangea.  All are mature plantings now.  In 1994 we founded High Meadow Flower Farm, and for the next fifteen years we sold cut flowers, perennials and herbs at numerous local Farmers’ Markets.

Today we continue to grow flowers, but our focus now is on the needs of florists and event planners.

Spring brings luscious peonies – we have 15 varieties.  Summer spawns a host of colorful annual flowers, followed in early fall by Limelight Hydrangea.  Winterberry Holly – Ilex verticillata – with its bright red berries rounds out our season in December.

We know that today’s consumers are searching for locally grown products.  We use no pesticides on our farm.  Each order is custom picked and delivered fresh to you within 24 hours.

Please contact us to receive our weekly ‘flower availability’ list from May through December.
We welcome an opportunity to give you a tour of the farm.  Please call ahead for an appointment.

Warm regards,
Maureen & Luke Charde
